An Egyptian historian, researcher, and university professor who worked as a history teacher at Menoufia University, then as Dean of the Faculty of Education. He served as a member of the Supreme Council of Culture, Chairman of the History Committee, and a member of the Board of...Read more Directors of the Egyptian Book Authority. He supervised the series The History of Egyptians, in addition to his membership in many committees, as well as his constant participation in the weekly magazine October, Al Ahram newspaper, and later Al Gomhuria. He was a member of the Shura Council, and he was one of the founders of the National Progressive Unionist Party, from which he resigned in 1985. He died on July 4, 2007.
