Alfre Woodard is an American actress and producer born on November 8, 1952 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States. She began her career in 1978. She is also an Emmy Award and Golden Globe winner. She studied at Boston University and starred in films including the 2013 British-American historical drama, 12 Years a Slave. She is known for her roles in Captain America: Civil War (2016), Star Trek: First Contact (1996), The Family That Preys (2008), and others.
