A British singer and actor, born on January 30, 1951, in Hammersmith, England. He began his musical career with a band called Flaming Youth. Afterwards, he joined the band Genesis as a drummer, then became their lead singer after Peter Gabriel's departure from the band. He is one of only three recording artists who sold over 100 million records both as solo artists and as members of a band. He is considered one of the most successful singers in the world according to the number of sales of his records. His notable songs include "In the Air Tonight", "Follow Me Follow Me", and "Another Day in Paradise". He also wrote the song "You'll Be in My Heart" for Disney's Tarzan, winning an Oscar for Best Music, Original Song. Phil won several other awards, such as Grammy Awards and Golden Globe Awards, and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
