An Egyptian director and writer who obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1961. He began his career as a director of documentaries and animated films. His film debut was the documentary The Festival in 1966, followed by the animated film Uncle Farhat (1969). He directed many TV movies, including The Bait and the Hook. His other credits include Palm of the Hand, El-Sadd Street, and Thy Lord Is Ever Watchful. He died on 29 March 1999.
