A British actor, born in Purley, Surrey, England, UK, on January 2, 1932, as Richard Stanley Thorp. Richard Thorp married three times and had four children. Among his most notable works are The Barretts of Wimpole Street (1957) and The Avengers (1963). He trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He made his film debut in Melody in the Dark (1949). Later on, he participated in the series Emergency-Ward 10 (1959-1961), appearing in 98 episodes, and concluded his career with the television series Emmerdale Farm (1981-2013), participating in 2111 episodes of the series. Richard Thorp died in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, UK, on May 22, 2013, at the age of 81.
