• Mexican actor born in Mexico City, on May 9, 1912. He got married to Carmelita Bohr in 1938 and she remained with him until he died. He is the father of actor Pedro Armendariz Jr....Read more Pedro. He was born at the time of the Mexican Revolution in Mexico and then his family moved to Laredo, Texas, until his father died. He was discovered by one of the directors while delivering Hamlet's monologue to a tourist at a coffee shop. He began his artistic career in Mexico, the United States of America and Europe, and made many films in the so-called golden age of Mexican cinema. His most important films include: La Peria (1947), 3 Godfathers (1948), and From Russia with Love (1963). He died on June 18, 1963 in Los Angeles, when he was shot in the head after learning that he had cancer.
