An American actress, director, and screenwriter, born in California, United States. She graduated from Rochester Adams High School in 1982 before obtaining a bachelor's degree in performing arts from Northwestern University. Karen was crowned Miss Illinois and participated in the Miss America 1986 pageant. She received a fellowship in screenwriting from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. She participated in a number of works, such as Blue Car (2002) and The Dead Girl (2006).
