A German director, born in Morbach, Germany. He had an interest in plays and performing throughout his early school years in Simmern. He studied journalism, art history, theatrical studies, and German language in Munich after completing his high school education in 1952. After that, he had jobs as a producer, screenwriter's assistant, and photographer. He also studied film directing.
