She is an American actress, born and raised in New York. She was the daughter of filmmaker and poet Jonas Mekas and Hollis Melton. Her first screen appearance was in her father's film. She gained recognition for her role as "Helen Russell" in Boardwalk Empire (2012). She is also known for The Gambler (2013), The Sleepy Man (2013), and At Last (2007).
