A German actor, born in Aachen, Germany. He took singing lessons at the Conservatory in Aachen. He also studied ethnology in Cologne and undertook several exploratory expeditions in southern Latin America in the wake of World War II, then returned to Germany. He participated in experimental theatre, then in cinema and television. He died in Munich, Germany, at the age of eighty-five.
