Egyptian performer born in Cairo known for his daring shows. His performances included blowing fire, eating glass, and swallowing metal nails. He performed for many presidents including the Russian czar Nicholas II. Some of his performances were featured in the short film Strange As It Seems (1930) and the Spanish film Politiquerías (1931). His body was examined post-mortem at Johns Hopkins University for study and autopsy, due to his stomach's extraordinary strength.
