Among his most important works: The Maltese Falcon (1941), It's Wonderful Life (1946), and The Searchers (1956). He was educated at the University of Southern California. He got an additional job on the university football team. He got a supporting role in the movie Salute (1929). In the fifties, he became one of the stars of television. He played the roles of soldiers, sailors, policemen, and cowboys.
