He married twice; he married actress Mae Costello (1902-1927), with whom he had two daughters who became actresses, Dolores Costello...Read more and Helene Costello. The second marriage was to Ruth Reeves (1939-1941). Among his most important works: Fellow Voyagera (1913), The Wrath of Osaka (1913), and Through Life's Window (1914). He began his career in the early days of the American film industry, and during his teens and early twenties, he was one of the most successful movie stars and the highest paid in the days of silent cinema. He didn't participate in non-silent cinema. He excelled in the comedic roles that were prevalent in silent cinema. He died on October 28, 1950 in Hollywood, California, USA.
