American actress, born in New York City, New York, USA on January 21, 1906. She received a star on the Walk of Fame in 1960. She married John W. Regan (1927-1928), Lowell Sherman (1930-1932), Arturode Barrio (1933-1939), and George Le Blanc (1940-1948). Her first non-silent film was The Black Swan (1942). Among her most important works: Her Crowning Glory (1911), Lulu's Doctor (1912), and Lights of New York (1928). She is the daughter of famous actor Maurice Costello and actress May Costello. She appeared in American cinema at the age of 3 with her older sister Dolores Costello and her father in silent films. She studied at home and completed her education in the monastery, and at the age of 18, she studied ballet and flamenco and joined the George White band as a choir girl. She appeared in most of her father's films and appeared with her sister in 20 films. She suffered from a lung disease and had to undergo surgery to remove some ribs to relieve pressure on the lung, and the doctor had to supply her with sleeping pills to relieve her pain, until she became addicted to pills, which prompted her family to file a case against the doctor until he was suspended from work and his license was withdrawn. She died on January 26, 1957 in Los Angeles, California, USA of tuberculosis and pneumonia.
