A German actor and screenwriter, born in Lübeck, Germany. He studied German language, literature, history, and philosophy in Freiburg. He also wrote speeches for the Social Democratic Party of Germany in the election campaign for membership in the German House of Representatives (Bundestag). He also wrote a number of stories, novels, screenplays, journalistic investigations, articles, and speeches. He worked as a professor at several American universities, such as Stanford, Princeton, and Harvard.
