At the age of 17, he toured with a children's theater group for 3 years, studied acting at HB Studio in New York City, and made his Broadway debut in Hotel Paradiso in 1957. He then performed the Off-Broadway's The Moon in Yellow River by Denis Johnston, for which he won an Obie Award. He is known for Murder by Death (1976), Only When I Laugh (1981), and Man of La Mancha (1972). He died on February 25, 1987 in New York City, New York, USA (heart attack).
