She received many awards, including the TV Emmy Award in 1968, 1967, 1956, 1953, the Golden Globe Award in 1979, 1956, the Golden Laurel Award in 1968, 1961, the Golden Apple...Read more Award in 1973, the Crystal Award in 1977, and the Lifetime Comedy Award in 1987. She received two stars on the Walk of Fame in 1960 for her work in cinema, TV. She married twice and had two. She died on April 26, 1989 in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, from an acute aortic aneurysm. She is known for I Love Lucy (1951), The Lucy Show (1962), Here's Lucy (1968), Yours, Mine, and Ours (1968). Her father died at the age of four, and her mother held several jobs. She studied at the Drama School in New York City and worked as a fashion model, besides working in the cinema. She collaborated with Max Factor to advertise their products. A commemorative postage stamp was issued for her in 2001.
