She was born as the only daughter of an immigrant father from France who worked as Terzia in Paris and left her during the economic depression. She started her career at the age of 11 by working in silent cinema. She finished high school at Mamaronic, completed her studies at Columbia University, and spent 6 months studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Art. In 1930, she signed a contract with Warner Company to continue her successes in starring films. She appeared on Broadway in 1932 and continued her work in theater and cinema. In1953, she joined the television. She died on April 8, 2000, in Newport Beach, California, USA, affected by respiratory diseases.
