Serbian writer and director who moved to New York in 1991, where he graduated from City College. His documentary film, Escape won the Audience Award at the Hampton Film Festival in 2004 and other festivals. His first feature film, Here and There (2009) won the Best Narrative Award at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2009 as well as 16 other awards. He was chosen as Best Film Director in 2009 for Here and There by the International Federation of Critics, Serbia. The Film Academy of Serbia submitted the film to the Oscar for Best Foreign Film.
