A Palestinian writer and film director, born in the Ain al-Hilweh camp in 1951 to a refugee father from the village of Al-Na'ima and a Lebanese mother. He joined the ranks of the Palestinian revolution and then completed his studies in Britain. He directed the film Shadow of...Read more Absence, which dealt with the death and exile of the Palestinian, and the film As the Poet Said, in which he documented the life of the late Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. He wrote for newspapers in Britain, Lebanon, the Emirates, and Palestine. He directed several documentaries, some of which won awards at international festivals. He published a collection of short stories in Ramallah, and some of them were translated into English.
