An American writer and producer, born on December 15, 1936, in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. His most notable works include The Wild Bunch (1969), NYPD Blue (1994-1995), and The Hellstrom Chronicle (1971), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 1972.
