An American actress, born on September 21, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois, USA, as Betty Gale Russell. She received a star on the Walk of Fame in 1960. She married actor and producer Guy Madison (1949-1954), and they divorced. Russell is best known for The Uninvited (1944), Angel and...Read more the Badman (1947), Calcutta (1946), and Night Has a Thousand Eyes (1948). At the age of 14, Gail Russell moved with her parents to California, where she completed her high school education at Santa Monica High School. She signed with Paramount Pictures when she was 18, and in 1943, she made her film debut in the film Henry Aldrich Gets Glamour, after which she starred in many roles in cinema and television, but the company did not renew her contract as she used to drink on set. Russell died on August 27, 1961, in Brentwood, Los Angeles, California, USA, due to complications from liver failure.
