During his university years, a close friend suggested that they take a trip they had long dreamed of around Latin America. This trip was an important turning point in Guevara's life where he lived in poverty and injustice, and believed that salvation would only come through revolution. This period also shaped his belief in the absence of differences between peoples and dreamed of unity. Guevara is best known for writing The Motorcycle Diaries (2004), Che: Part One (2008), and Che: Part Two (2008). He died on October 9, 1967 in the Bolivian village La Higuera.
