Eddie Cantor was born in New York City, New York, USA on January 31, 1892, as Isidore Itzkowitz. Eddie Cantor was awarded a Honorary Award in 1957, an LAA Award in 1963, a Special Academy Award in 1956 for distinguished services to the film industry, and three stars on the Walk of Fame in 1960 for his work on radio, film and television. Eddie Cantor is best known for Ali Baba Goes to Town (1937), Forty Little Mothers (1940), If You Knew Susie (1948), and The Eddi Cantor Comedy Theater (1955). Cantor was a singer, songwriter, author, comedian, and actor. He was educated in public schools. He made his debut in 1907 by working in the performance theater at Clinton Music Hall in New York, and stood on Broadway in 1920. Also, he worked in radio and television. Eddie Cantor died on October 10, 1964 in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, of a heart attack.
