A famous American writer and playwright, born on October 16, 1888. He has made many important contributions to theatrical literature and is known for Emperor Jones, The Hairy Monkey, Desire Under the Elm Tree, and The Great God Brown. He gained the attention of the theatrical audience and his fame and prestige increased after writing more than twenty long plays (1920-1943). He received the Nobel Prize in Literature, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and the Tony Award for Best Play He died on November 27, 1953 at the age of 65.
