A German director and author, born on March 20, 1962 in Hildesheim, Germany. His twin brother is Wolfgang Lauenstein. He is known for the films: Balance in 1989, The Fall in 2006, and Luis and the Aliens in 2018. He won an Oscar for Balance in the animated short film category in 1990.
