Bowles attended Maperley Plains Primary School, then Nottingham High School, where he studied English. He then received a scholarship to train as an actor at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). Peter began his career with the Old Vic, where he presented Shakespeare's classic plays, accompanied the company on a North American tour, and performed a season on Broadway. Peter presented many shows at the Bristol Old Vic and appeared on television in 1958. He usually played the role of a foreign villain. He continued to work in television while continuing his theater work. As for his cinematic career, he began in 1962 with an appearance in the comedy film Live Now - Pay Later (1962), and his first film in a major role was Three Hats for Lisa (1965). His last film was Together (2018). He died on March 17, 2022.
