Marie Windsor was an American actress, born in Marysvale, Utah, on December 11, 1919 as Emily Marie Bertelsen. Mary Windsor won a Golden Boot award in 1984 and received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1983. Windsor married twice and had one child. She graduated from Marysvale High School in 1934 and studied music as part of her graduation training. She also joined Brigham Young University and acted in dramatic productions. She was an accomplished athlete, practicing swimming, golf, tennis, skiing, and equestrianism, as well as mastering dancing. She signed with Warner Bros in 1942 and appeared in many films, then spent two years with MGM and presented two secondary roles. In 1948, she signed a contract with Enterprise Studios and began taking on leading roles in the late forties and fifties. The movie Force of Evil (1948) was her first as a star, and she often presented the roles of the traitorous wife, adulterer, whore, lover, or the leader of the gang. She started her television activity intermittently in the early fifties, but she took full time in the sixties and seventies, then returned to working on television until 1991. After retiring, she practiced her hobbies in drawing and sculpture. Windsor passed away on December 10, 2000 at the age of 80 in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California.
