She met the actor turned aviation supervisor and producer, James Blakely, whom she married in 1942, and then participated in her latest film, Dead Men Walk (1943). Thereafter, she resided with her husband in London and quit acting, and later returned to Beverly Hills and opened a salon. Mary Carlisle received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. Her most notable work includes One Frightened Night (1935), Dance, Girl, Dance (1940), Baby Face Morgan (1942), and Dead Men Walk (1943). She died in 2018.
