Egyptian director born on 27 March 1937. He has a diploma in Education and a bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Sociology from Ain Shams University. He also received a postgraduate diploma in directing and screenwriting from the High Cinema Institute in 1972. He worked as a film critic as well as a director. His films include Midnight Dream (1967), Wailing Without a Wall (1974), and People and the Lake (1981).
