British actor born John Reginald Owen in Hertfordshire, United Kingdom on 5 August 1877. He attended Sir Herbert Tree's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. His most notable works include A Study in Scarlet (1933), Of Human Bondage (1934), A Tale of Two Cities (1935), and Mary Poppins (1964). He was married three times and had three children. He died of a heart attack on 5 November 1972 in Idaho, USA.
