An American film and television actor and writer, born on September 9, 1915 in Bloomington, Illinois, USA. He left Brown University Theological Seminary in 1936, after which he appeared in more than fifty films, including Out of the Past (1947), Distant Drums (1951), and The Blob (1972). He died on June 10, 1993 in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, California, USA.
