She is an American actress, writer, and director, born in 1981 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She is known for Terriers (2010), Common Law (2012), and South Boston Legal (2014). In 2015, she won an Academy Nicholl Fellowship for What They Had (2018), which she directed and premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and TIFF. She has been married to Jay Montepare since August 2011.
