Anne Dvorak worked in silent cinema when she was five years old. She studied at St. Catherine's School in Manhattan, then Clark School for Girls and Badge School for Girls. She graduated at the age of 15 and studied dance, which allowed her a contract with MGM as a dance coach and chorus girl in musical films. Her movie debut was Scarface (1932). Anne Dvorak worked on television in addition to her film career, and retired from work in 1951.
