A British actress, born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 20, 1915. She married the actor Michael Denison (1939-1998) and remained with him until his death. She was born in Malaysia to a father who works as a judge there, and she was sent to a boarding school in England, but...Read more returned to Malaysia in 1929. In 1931, she ran away from home and made her way to England, on a cargo ship. She worked as a governess, and she was interested in dancing, but the temptations of theater, changed her interest, as she was accepted in 1938 to the Webber Douglas Academy. She and her husband, together presented 26 theater productions. She turned to writing, where she wrote 24 books, most of which are crime novels. Among her most important works: The Franchise Affair (1951), A Man About the House (1947), Mine Own Execution (1947) and My Brother Jonathan (1948). She died on November 15, 2011 in Denville Hall, Northwood.
