He is a German actor and writer. He was born on July 11, 1933 in Berlin, Germany. His notable works include General Electric Theater (1957), Hamsun (1996), and Die Dame ist nicht fürs Feuer (1960). He is also known for providing the voice of the school teacher as an old man in The White Ribbon (2009).
