A British actor, born on February 22, 1953, in Westminster, London, England, United Kingdom, as Nigel George Planer. He went to the University of Sussex to study African and Asian Studies. He was awarded a BRIT Award in 1984 and was nominated for Olivier, TMA, WhatsOnStage, and BAFTA Awards. He trained as an actor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. His works include Yellowbeard (1983), Carry on Columbus (1992), and Episodes (2012-2015).
