Among his notable collections of short stories are "The Old Sheriff" (1953) and "Disappointment" (1956), in addition to his plays, such as Fugitive from the Café (1955) and Sentenced to Death (1960). He's known for Saeed Effendi (1957) and Autumn Leaves (1964). He died in an accident on March 28, 1975.
