An Iraqi writer, born in Baghdad. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1951, and he published his texts in the press during his university studies. In 1952, he published his first collection of short stories entitled "Harvest of Tears", trying to trace the lives of...Read more simple, naive, and helpless individuals, who formed basic models in his works that showed his leftist tendencies and preceded the July Revolution of 1958. Among his notable collections of short stories are "The Old Sheriff" (1953) and "Disappointment" (1956), in addition to his plays, such as Fugitive from the Café (1955) and Sentenced to Death (1960). He's known for Saeed Effendi (1957) and Autumn Leaves (1964). He died in an accident on March 28, 1975.
