She is a Japanese-born Chinese-American actress, writer, director, and producer. Her grandfather was Yuanlong Wang. She grew up in Washington and later moved to California. She went to school at the University of California, San Diego, where she earned a BA in drama and an MFA in acting and directing, among other things. She is known for The Afterparty (2023), Snakehead (2021), and Luke Cage (2016-2018).
