An American film and television actress and singer, born in Newport News, Virginia, USA. She studied at the Settlement Music School in Philadelphia, at Temple University, and New York University. Her works include Billy Madison (1995), The Wiz (1978), and The Goodbye Girl (1977). She died of skin cancer on June 12, 1998 in The Bronx, New York, USA.
