After his return he had tuberculosis in the spine, so he was permanently excluded from the army in 1944, to appear in the professional theater Little Mark in Glasgow. His most important works are: On Such a Night (1956), Dentist in the Chair (1960), and Alice in Wonderland (1986). He died in 2009 at the age of 90.
