An American musician, opera singer, and actress, born on September 3, 1910, in New Orleans, in the United States, to a family of German-Jewish descent. She went on to train at the Théâtre de l'Atelier in Paris and studied acting in London at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She studied singing with Estelle Liebling. Among her works are She Loves Me Not and A Night at the Opera. She died on April 17, 2007, in New York, USA.
