British theater and film actress, born on February 26, 1886 in London. She settled in the United States, and worked in Hollywood where she appeared in nearly 100 films. She started acting in films from 1913. She played the role of shepherds and widows in British and American films in the 1920s and 1930s. Among her works are: Cynara (1932), Jane Eyre (1934), and Riptide (1934). She died on June 13, 1948 in Los Angeles.
