American actor, born on September 8, 1873, in Stonefoot, Illinois, USA. He appeared in thirteen films between 1922 and 1931, including two of Charlie Chaplin's films, and was a member of the Hillbilly country music groups in the early 1930s. He was known for The Gold Rush (1925), Tramp, Tramp, Tramp (1926), and Into Her Kingdom (1926). He died on August 27, 1935, in Hollywood, California, USA, from a heart attack.
