American actor, born on July 15, 1895, in Moscow, Russian Empire [now Russia]. He was Lillian Gish's favorite still photographer, the two worked together several times between 1926 and 1929. He made his debut in 1910. He is known for The Squaw Man (1914), The Trail of the Lonesome Pine (1916), and Carmen (1915). He died on March 29, 1948, in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA.
