British actor born in London, on July 18, 1923. He was trained at the Conti Italian Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Michael was awarded the O.B.E. in 2005 for his services to drama. He founded the Memorial Enterprises film production company with actor and director Albert Finney in 1965. He also worked as a theater producer, after forming a theater company, whose productions appeared in London's West End and Broadway in New York, and remained its president until his death. Among his important works: Never Say Never Again (1983), Scrooge (1970), The Longest Day (1962), and The Duchess (2008). He died in Bournemouth, England, on February 26, 2020.
