British actor, born in London, on May 7, 1908. He got married three times and had two children. His distinctive voice made him particularly popular as a voice actor, and he was known for many years as "The Man in Black", the narrator of the BBC Radio horror series, Appointment with Fear. He appeared in the theater with his father, actor Franklin Dyall, in Shakespeare's plays, and he also appeared with him in the movie Yellow Canary (1943). Among his important works are: The Haunting (1963), The City of the Dead (1960), Treasure Island (1957) and Bizarre (1970). He died in England, on June 24, 1985.
