British actor born in Islington, London, England, United Kingdom on January 21, 1900 as William George Street. He married Caroline Hamer Jackson in 1947, who remained with him until his death. His notable works include Once a Sinner (1950), 'Pimpernel' Smith (1941), and BBC Sunday-Night Theater (1950-1953). He died in England, in 1966, at the age of 65.
