He was born in Shanghai to a wealthy family, and was sent to a British...Read more boarding school when he was twelve years old, and spent his adolescence in Europe. He studied art in London before embarking on a commercial career in parallel with acting, where he opened a hairdressing salon, then sold it and established a chain of restaurants in London under the name Mr. Chow, it served Chinese food in a way that the British could understand. He then traveled to the United States where he opened several restaurants in Beverly Hills, Las Vegas, Miami and New York. Among his most important works are: You Only Live Twice (1967), My Sister's Keeper (2009), and Rush Hour (1998).
