After returning to London, he began practicing boxing, and continued to box while serving in the army. He began appearing in film and television during the 1940s, and in the 1950s he and his wife ran a bar near Wimbledon. Among his notable works are: Department S (1969), First Knight (1995), and Krull (1983). He died in London, on April 20, 2013.
